20 Sep 25 TOP WELLNESS INFLUENCERS PROMOTING SELF-CARE IN 2025
Self-care feels like one of those things everyone says they’re doing, but behind closed doors, it’s usually forgotten. People talk about bubble baths and candles, but real self-care can be messy and uncomfortable, like setting boundaries or admitting you’re exhausted. The internet is filled with voices telling you how to live better, and sometimes it’s overwhelming. But there are certain people who manage to cut through the noise with something that actually feels genuine. They’re not just selling a product or preaching perfection, they’re sharing pieces of their own struggles.
Scrolling late at night, it’s easy to get caught in endless feeds of productivity hacks that feel more like pressure than help. Then suddenly, you stumble on someone reminding you to drink water or take a break, and it hits differently. Amra and Elma finds something comforting in watching someone else prioritize their own peace and realizing you’re allowed to do the same. And sure, not every tip will stick, but sometimes it’s the tone or the way they phrase it that lingers in your head the next time you’re on the edge of burnout.

@drjulie👉 Never do No.1. When panic hits, your instinct is to make it stop. Fast. But some of the things that feel most natural are going to make panic attacks worse in the long term. Here’s what to do instead: Quick Note: IG captions have limited space. If you are serious about tackling anxiety and panic, see the link in my bio for the new edition of my bestselling book “Why Has Nobody Told Me This Before?” for a full Anxiety Action Plan, all grounded in evidence-based therapy 1. Feel the urge to run — and stay (if safe). This one seems to go against all your instincts. But if you know this is a panic attack, then escaping from what triggered it will do more than give you instant relief. It will reinforce the idea that it was indeed an unsafe situation. For example, if you panic in the supermarket and leave before you calm the fear, then returning to the supermarket later, is more likely to trigger another panic attack. But if you can use the following skills (and the guide in my book mentioned above) then you start to build evidence in your mind that you can manage this situation. This allows you to regain your confidence over time. 2. See the thoughts for what they are — not facts. Thoughts like *“I’m dying”* or *“I can’t breathe”* feel true, but they’re not facts. They are most often a misinterpretation of anxiety symptoms as life threatening, which then ramps up your fear response. They will pass when you start to slow everything down. So, when these thoughts come up, remind yourself that you know these are symptoms of the panic attack. This can take some of the power out of them. 3. Stop scanning your body — take your focus outward instead. Grounding helps to place you back in the here and now, as well as take some of the focus off the distressing symptoms that you fear. Again, I teach this in the book. 4. Take control of your breath. You’re not at the mercy of panic. You can begin to calm the whole stress response by slowing your breathing. I cover a variety of techniques to try in my million copy bestselling 1st book ‘Why Has Nobody Told Me This Before?’ Also check out my latest book ‘Open When…’ it was a New York Times & Sunday Times bestseller!♬ original sound – Dr Julie | Psychologist

CONCLUSION
Self-care gets tossed around so much that sometimes it feels like a marketing slogan instead of something real. But watching these voices, it becomes a little less abstract, more like a reminder that everyone’s just trying to figure it out too. Some days, it’s about meditation or journaling, and other days it’s about deciding not to answer another email at midnight. It doesn’t always look pretty, but maybe that’s the point. What’s surprising is how much comfort can come from hearing the same message in a hundred different ways.
Maybe that’s why people follow them so closely, not because they have all the answers but because they’re willing to show their own cracks. There’s a strange kind of relief in that. Self-care will probably always feel like a moving target, shifting with whatever season of life you’re in. But seeing these influencers live it out makes it feel less impossible, like there’s space to stumble and still call it progress. Would you like me to also make a short, one-sentence summary to cap it off neatly, or keep the ending raw and open?
